Same reason I got the hefty rear bumper with no swing outs. Having it on all the time would really limit my ability to park in certain areas (parking is tight). Reason being is I have to do a lot of city driving/ parallel parking and need to access my hatch 6-8 times a day. ![]() Give them a call if you want something similar. Are you planning to keep the spare underneath when off-roading as well? I took mine out because it would rub at times in areas. Do the reverse to tighten it to prevent shake when off-roading or driving. I took some photos of the item in detail. Use the hex key it comes with, and put it in the bolt at the wedge lock, loosen it until it wiggles freely (don't actually remove the bolt, just want it so it's loose). I had recently purchased and put on my 2010 Off Road, a Detours Off Road, Knucklebone Tire Carrier. You run a ratchet or impact wrench with an extension and 3/8 socket. ![]() At the end there's a wedge lock that has to be tightened and loosened to get it on or off.
